Allan G. Charlap, Esq. was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1982.
Attorney Charlap has specialized in the area of Domestic Relations for over 35 years. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and certified by the National Board of Matrimonial Trial Advocates. Attorney Charlap is a member of the New York State Bar Association as well as the Chemung and Steuben County Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the U.S. Federal Court Western District of New York. He graduated from Franklin Pierce School of Law in 1981. He received a B.A. and M.A. from Binghamton University of New York in 1969 and 1971, respectively.
Attorney Charlap was the first Executive Director of the Chemung County Drug Abuse Counsel; has served with the New York State Office of Drug Abuse Prevention; and was the Executive Director of In-Patient Rehabilitation for Drug and Alcohol Addiction and Abuse (now known as Endless Mountains Rehabilitation Center). He was a member of the Elmira Civic Center Task Force Committee and is the attorney for the Elmira Pioneers baseball team and the Elmira Enforcers Federal hockey team. Attorney Charlap has been privileged to be peer awarded Super Lawyer for several years.
